About Us

The Plasma Astrophysics Group at IPP is a newly formed group within its Tokamak Theory division (led by Prof. Dr. F. Jenko), that addresses emerging key issues in the physics of astrophysical plasmas, ranging from kinetic turbulence and magnetic reconnection to cosmic particle acceleration in astrophysical sources such as supernova remnants and Active Galaxies.

The group maintains close connections to the research initiative (Connector 6) "Cosmic Accelerators" of the Munich Excellence Cluster ORIGINS.
